Sometimes visitors to our fish pond are unexpected.  It would seem that, although the majority of water consumed by koalas is contained in their food or comes from water which accumulates on leaves as dew or rain droplets, supplement is needed.
When all the tender, young leaves favoured by koalas are devoured, it becomes necessary to use the 1% of their time allocated to move from tree to tree.

Koalas spend about 20% of their lives eating and almost 80% resting/sleeping.  This was a hot summer's day and the best way to cool down is to stretch out in the shade.
